Our present world is dominated by European culture because of the great advancement made by Western civilization in most fields. This book highlights a great difference between European culture and its Islamic counterpart. European culture is the outcome of European history whose values and guiding principles are the result of how European societies developed and interacted with the world at large.

By contrast Islamic culture has shaped the history of the Muslim world and fashioned Islamic society. The Qur'an and the Sunnah which are the two parts of divine revelations have set out the values and essential principles which govern the life of Islamic society and its individual members. As such it is Islamic culture that shapes Islamic history.


This means that there is a great gulf between the two cultures with one made by history while the other sets the way history should follow.
